Wi-Fi Power 2004 Welcomes HP Canada as Gold Sponsor

TORONTO, JANUARY 26, 2004 - The eCustomerWorld Institute is pleased to announce that HP Canada has joined Wi-FiPower 2004 as a Gold Sponsor. Wi-FiPower 2004 - Canada's Premier Wi-Fi Business Solutions Show will be held on March 1-3, 2004 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Ontario, Canada. The event will attract Canada's elite business community from coast to coast.

"We are pleased to welcome HP Canada as a sponsor," said Jacob (Jake) Gordon, President of the eCustomerWorld Institute and Chairman of Wi-FiPower 2004. "HP is known for its world class product innovation and the delivery of customer solutions that meet the changing IT demands of Canada's business community. Their participation in the event will greatly enhance the quality of the conference educational program and the product solutions showcase".

"HP is the industry leader in WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks) and NSP (Network Service Provider) communications solutions. That is why customers such as Starbucks, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, T-Mobile, along with hundreds of carriers around the world, have turned to HP to design, install and manage thousands of WLAN equipped locations" said Victor Garcia, Managing Principal, Wireless and Enterprise Mobility, Hewlett Packard (Canada) Co. "HP plans to share with attendees of the Wi-FiPower 2004 event some of secrets behind its success in the area of wireless and mobility. The HP list of successful private and public WLAN deployments includes airports, airline clubs, coffee-shops, restaurants, public areas, retail outlets, sports facilities, educational centers and enterprise campuses; as well as installations in the public safety, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation and lodging industries. More than one million Wi-Fi users depend daily on HP solutions," said Garcia.

"Polls by leading researchers have shown that many senior executives are very concerned with security and may not clearly understand the uses and benefits of wireless technology or mobility applications. HP Services has demonstrated how wireless LAN and enterprise mobility solutions can be deployed securely and reliably. HP Services' proven design, deployment and management capabilities have helped shorten our customers' learning curve and get them on the fast track to implementing a secure wireless and mobility environment. We are glad to be part of this conference, sharing our experience with Canadian Wi-Fi users", said Reg Schade, Vice-President and General Manager, HP Services Canada.

HP offers a full suite of WLAN solutions and building-block solution elements designed specifically to address enterprise customers, SMB, public sector, public WiFi and network service provider needs. These solutions fall into a range of categories, including full turnkey managed hotspot services, fully integrated wide area network (WAN)/Wi-Fi/digital subscriber line (DSL)/cable solutions and a complete line of consulting and integration services. In addition, HP offers a portfolio of carrier-grade, scalable solution elements configured to meet its customers' exact requirements.

HP is also world leader in Public and Private WLAN business consulting. HP has developed viable business models for carriers, wireless ISPs, airports, hotels and retail chains, also leading the charge in providing zero-CAPEX options for the deployment of Public WLAN and Private WLAN deployments. HP is a committee member an active participant in the Wi-Fi Alliance and one of the major contributors to WISPR and WECA.
